Author Guidelines
Methods of Submission and Contact
Manuscripts must be submitted as an online file in A4 format (210 mm x 297 mm), with margins: left and top = 3 cm; right and bottom = 2 cm. The text must be prepared in Word for Windows (.doc or .docx format), using Times New Roman font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing. In the case of articles, the manuscript must have a minimum of 10 (ten) and a maximum of 20 (twenty) pages, and in the case of book reviews, a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of four (4) pages, including footnotes and references. Texts must be uploaded to the Portal of Vox Scripturae – International Theological Journal (revistas.flt.edu.br) or, in the event of technical difficulties, the author should contact the Journal’s Technical Support (support link), providing a full address, contact telephone number, and email address for further guidance. The person submitting the article will receive confirmation of receipt by email within 15 (fifteen) calendar days following submission. If this confirmation is not received, the submitter should attempt contact again by email with the journal (voxscripturae@flt.edu.br).
Abstract and Keywords
The abstract is a concise presentation of the main points or theses of the text, mentioning the considerations put forward by the author. The abstract must contain a minimum of 100 (one hundred) and a maximum of 250 (two hundred and fifty) words. It must appear before the beginning of the article, in single spacing (1.0), font size 10. It must be written in Portuguese, Spanish, English, or German, according to the language used throughout the article. In the case of submissions in Portuguese, an English translation (abstract) must be provided. In the case of submissions in German and Spanish, both an English translation (abstract) and a Portuguese translation (resumo) must be provided. In the case of submissions in English, a Portuguese translation (resumo) must be provided.
The same rule applies to keywords, which are descriptors identifying the content of the article. Important: in order to standardize these keywords, the use of thesauri from the corresponding field is recommended. The number of keywords must be at least three (3) and at most five (5).
Elements of the Opening Page
The opening page must contain the title, subtitle, if any, as well as these in the vernacular language and in a foreign language according to the same rules as the abstract, and below them the name(s) of the author(s). The first footnote must contain the author’s information (degree, field of teaching or research, institution and place of work, relevant information regarding positions previously or currently held, ORCiD, Currículo Lattes in the case of Brazilians or authors affiliated in Brazil, and email address).
Example: Alexander de Bona Stahlhoefer (Dr.) is Professor of Church History, Theology, and Contemporary Philosophy at Faculdade Luterana de Teologia in São Bento do Sul, SC, Brazil. Doctor of Theology from the Faculty of Theology of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Bayern, Germany. Bachelor of Theology from Faculdade Luterana de Teologia in São Bento do Sul, SC, Brazil. ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3461-9472. Currículo Lattes: http://lattes.cnpq.br/1048614488941228. E-mail: alexander.stahlhoefer@flt.edu.br.
Formatting of the Title and Sections
The title (in bold) and the subtitle (in bold and lowercase letters) must be centered, font size 14. The title must contain a maximum of 12 words and be formulated clearly, specifically, and descriptively. The chapter titles and their subtopics must be formatted as follows:
1 Chapter – aligned to the left margin, in bold. Before the title, insert 2 (two) line spaces, and after it, insert 1 (one) line space.
1.1 Topic within a chapter – in bold, aligned to the left margin. Before and after each topic title within a chapter, insert 1 (one) line space.
1.1.1 Subtopic within a chapter – in bold, aligned to the left margin. Insert line spacing before the subtopic. Other subtopics: 1.1.1.1, in regular type, aligned to the left margin. Insert line spacing before the subtopic.
Body of the Text
The body of the text must contain an introduction, development of the topic, final considerations or conclusion, acknowledgments if applicable, and references at the end, respecting the rules for the use of abbreviations and symbols, as well as citations and references.
The introduction must briefly present the purpose of the study or article, describing the methodology used and the structure of the approach, and indicating the advances achieved through the research, without anticipating its results. More specifically, the methodology presents the methodological path of the approach, the research procedures, and the analysis of the data. The theoretical foundation must be consistent with the topic under study and make possible an adequate and in-depth analysis. The literature used must reflect up-to-date references in the field.
The development may be presented in continuous text or in structured topics and subtopics, at the author’s discretion.
Only standardized abbreviations and symbols should be used in the body of the text. If unfamiliar abbreviations are used, it is recommended that they be defined when they first appear, and this definition should be given in a footnote.
The conclusion, or final considerations, synthesizes the research advance achieved and points to the specific contribution of the text.
If there are acknowledgments, they must be brief.

Considering the editorial profile of Vox Scripturae, all indications of references used in the body of the text must be inserted in footnotes, displayed at the bottom of each page, with single spacing (1.0) and font size 10.
