Scope, Mission, Objectives, and Vision

The journal’s scope is to publish and disseminate knowledge production and the results of scientific research in the fields of Old and New Testament Biblical Theology, Historical-Systematic Theology, and Practical Theology, which constitute the journal’s descriptors. It also welcomes publications of an interdisciplinary, ecumenical, and interreligious nature, originating both from theology and from related fields that engage critically and constructively with theological reflection, such as the social sciences, history, language and literature, philosophy, psychology, anthropology, bioethics, education, social work, health sciences, and religious studies.

The journal’s mission is to publish works of academic excellence in theology, encompassing Old and New Testament biblical exegesis, historical-systematic theology, and practical theology, with special emphasis on research guided by methodological rigor, scholarly commitment, and openness to interdisciplinary, ecumenical, and interreligious dialogue.

The journal’s objectives are to enable the publication and dissemination of the results of scientific research and original, innovative academic works, including both articles and essays, that are relevant to contemporary academic and public discussion; to promote theological, ecumenical, and interreligious debate and dialogue at the academic and scholarly levels, nationally and internationally, fostering the universality of knowledge, research innovation, the advancement of theological and interdisciplinary knowledge, and the public, critical, and political exercise of ethical citizenship.

The journal’s vision is, by 2030, to expand its indexation in relevant national and international databases. It also aims to remain a journal of scholarly quality, ranked in Qualis stratum A and recognized as a space for scientific production and dissemination that contributes significantly to the advancement of theological research and to interdisciplinary debate at the national and international levels.
